Our proprietary Trigger technology is designed to detect emissions and leaks using a fully passive approach that requires no active subsea power or data communication. Each Trigger is engineered to respond to a single, specific material—ignoring all other typically found subsea.

If an emission is detected, the system mechanically releases an individually coded WellSentinel™ alert beacon to the ocean surface. The beacon then communicates the alert via satellite, notifying the asset owner and enabling a coordinated response.
Utilizes field-proven Alert Beacons that have been deployed thousands of times offshore
Alerts can be configured to meet client-specific requirements (e.g., onshore bases, response teams, control rooms)
Configure Monitoring Module with Passive Triggers
All passive detection equipment is contained in a sub-assembly known as the Monitoring Module
- This module houses Sentinel’s proprietary Trigger mechanism, which securely holds an Alert Beacon in place
- Sentinel has developed Triggers for oil, gas (thermogenic), CO₂ and other fluids
- Simply install the appropriate Trigger for your target fluid prior to deployment

Install System onto the Asset
Deploy our WellSentinel™ systems (including the Monitoring Module) onto the subsea asset or directly onto the seabed
- Installed onto subsea assets, requiring no in-well intervention
- Lifted from the offshore vessel to wellsite via heave-compensated crane and ROV support only

Passive Trigger Detection and Alert Beacon Released to Surface
Should there be an emission, the system passively detects this and mechanically releases an individually coded Alert Beacon to the ocean surface.

Get an Instant Asset Integrity Alert via Satellite
Upon surfacing, the beacon switches to active mode, connects to the Iridium satellite network, and sends alerts to designated recipients
- Each beacon has a unique code linked to a specific well, ensuring immediate identification when an alert is received
- Surfaced beacons can be tracked via GPS, aiding in monitoring fluid movement and simplifying beacon retrieval
Sentinel provides an in-house portal that can be utilized for Asset Integrity Alerts. Alternately Sentinel will work with other online digital platforms.

Subsea Christmas Tree (XT)
WellSentinel™ Clam
WellSentinel™ Clam systems are TRL - Level 9 and are a canopy-style solution designed to provide extensive area monitoring coverage for subsea Christmas trees (XTs).
The system is designed to be installed over the tree mandrel or the top of the tree that has no protective structure in place.
We collaborate closely with clients to develop a customised solution tailored to their specific subsea Christmas tree requirements.

WellSentinel™ Oyster
WellSentinel™ Oyster systems are a canopy-style solution designed to provide extensive area monitoring coverage for subsea Christmas trees (XTs) with protective structures in place.
With various options for installation, the system can latch and lock onto a protective structure or interface directly with any guideposts that may be in place. We collaborate closely with clients to develop a customised solution tailored to their specific subsea Christmas tree requirements.

WellSentinel™ Hybrid
The WellSentinel™ Hybrid system offers a versatile solution for both wellhead/christmas tree (XT) monitoring and external coverage, with field-proven detection capabilities up to 5 metres away from well centre.
This system can be deployed on wellheads to monitor areas beyond the immediate vicinity or installed on top of subsea Christmas trees (XTs), depending on local conditions. Designed with modularity in mind, the system accommodates a range of wellhead/mandrel sizes, including 18-3/4”, 16-3/4”, 13-5/8”, and 30”.

WellSentinel™ Coral
WellSentinel™ Coral systems are installed directly onto subsea wellheads and provide monitoring of the wellbore and low- and high-pressure housing.
The systems are TRL - Level 9, and designed to be modular and can fit a range of wellhead sizes (18-3/4”, 16-3/4”, 13-5/8”, 30”) and are designed for recovery and reinstallation on other wellheads.

WellSentinel™ Frondlet
WellSentinel™ Frondlet systems are lightweight compact systems designed for installation on subsea structures via remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), eliminating the need for a vessel crane.
These systems can be securely attached to subsea structures using bespoke clamps as needed. By leveraging knowledge of an asset's high-risk areas or known issues, combined with subsea current data, optimal placement of the systems on the asset ensures capture of any emission from a predetermined area on the asset.
Seabed or Legacy Asset
WellSentinel™ Limpet
WellSentinel™ Limpet systems are designed for direct installation onto the seabed or mudline, with placement determined by the specific area of focus for potential loss of containment (LoC).
This system is optimised for deployment on a clear seabed, particularly in areas where legacy infrastructure has been cut and buried, ensuring unobstructed conditions. The Limpet system captures any emissions as they migrate into the surrounding marine environment.
